“Talk Therapy” helps people gain perspective on their thoughts, feelings and behaviors, towards making healthy changes.
In Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, the focus is on the here and now. Problems are solved through gaining understanding and implementing change to distorted thoughts, roller coaster emotions, and dysfunctional behaviors.
In Psychodynamic Therapy, the focus is on unconscious processes as they are manifested in a person's present behaviors.
By integrating these two types of therapies, the work done is on two levels simultaneously. We address the here and now, but with perspective on how a person has gotten to that place.
Equine-Assisted Therapy is a treatment approach utilizing therapy horses to experientially illustrate the ABC's of change – awareness, behaviors and communications.
